Remix bar records was set up by Remix bar director Will Burns with a vision to release quality soulful productions by local & international musicians & producers who regularly perform at the bar, inspired by cafe del mar & cafe mambo, Remix bar records is dedicated to laid back bar grooves & chill out ranging from a mix of genres from acoustic, jazz,soul & vocal house.

Music at Remix has always been the main priority of the bar; Director Will Burns explains his vision and future for Remix. “I have always been heavily in to music ever since I left school I was in bands & then became a DJ, I studied at The ACM in Guildf ord when it was only a small music academy of about 100 people, after leaving there I set up my own recording studio which was based underneath a record shop Vinyl Frontier on Woking High Street, this was the shop where I used to buy all my old vinyl and how I got seriously in to Electronic/House music. I spent 4 years running the small basement studio recording local artists & working on my own music as well as DJing regularly and organising music & club events in London.
When I heard Vamps (The old bar) was up for sale it was a perfect opportunity to run my own venue in which I can use for my own music events & also host Local & national bands & DJs to perform regularly. I renamed the bar Remix in 2007, this name was appropriate, what I am trying to achieve musically is a real mix.
Woking has a history of live music famously for the Jam and Paul Weller who were all from Woking. Stanley Road (1995) Weller’s legendary album which was named after the road he lived on which joins on to the Broadway of where Remix is located. This is an influence in itself for local musicians & bands to follow suit, Remix is a venue where young musicians & bands can come & perform live and gain experience, there are just not enough venues in the area that offer this facility.
Weekend Music Policy: “The weekend nights are dedicated to cutting edge, new music from underground DJs that mix the latest tunes that you may only hear in the city. We play House, Electro, Minimal, Techno, Dub step, Drum&Bass, Hip Hop. We offer an alternative mix of music on a Friday/Saturday night, we try & stay away from the mainstream commercial music that you hear in every other bar, pub, club, restaurant in the country”.
“The Bar/ club is very personal being a small intimate venue you get a different atmosphere compared to a larger venue. You get to know your regulars & what they drink and what sort of music they enjoy.
